On the horizon

Some exciting things are on the horizon right now, which I will be proud to share with readers of the site.  Although I can’t talk about them out of respect to the people who are still creating them, I will say that they are fueled by passion and conviction, and offer views highly compatible with my own.

One is a video, and one is a mega-sized article.  I’m involved with proof-reading and giving feedback on both, and you can trust that they are worth anticipating.

As for myself, I haven’t been writing that much.  I need to get around to finishing the commentary on Ground Zeroes, of course, but I’ve got other hobbies that are inspiring me more right now.  It’s a good thing this site has intellectual, creative followers who are willing to work hard and share their creations freely, in the hopes of edifying more people.

MetaGearSolid.org Reader Survey (updated!)

I’ve created a quick little survey.  Go here and fill it out!

Update: Survey results have been pouring in already, so thank you.  I’ll continue to read them as they come.  A permanent link will be put in the sidebar for future reference, too!

Thankfully, results have been consistent with my expectations; which is encouraging because it means I’m not totally out of touch with what you guys are interested in.  All your suggestions are great, it’s the kind of stuff I’d love to get around to as well, so we’ll see how many of them I can do yet!

For those who’d like to do news hunting:

I hereby demand that you USE THIS IMPORTANT LINK to submit your suggestions, which I will certainly read, probably keep in mind for future writings, and possibly even bring up in “News Roundup”-style posts.  Basic instructions are on the page, and I look forward to having my own gang of snitches working nonstop in my service.  The more the merrier, I say!

.

For those who’d like to submit original content such as articles, comics and videos/animations:

Contact me at contribute@metagearsolid.org and let me know what you’d like to contribute, how you’d like your stuff to be published/linked, and who you are as a person.  I’ll reply when I can, and we’ll go from there.  Sorry it’s not more convenient but hopefully getting your stuff on the site is a worthwhile tradeoff!  I look forward to seeing your cool shit and getting to know the talented, opinionated people who’ve been reading my own work for a while.  There’s no hurry, so keep that email in mind for when you’re ready.

Damn it, Jeremy Parish

Why the hell are people writing articles about this now?  Shouldn’t you be too busy kissing Call of Duty’s ass?  Seriously.  Since when do you care about the deeper themes of MGS2?  Go back to sticking your head in the sand like an ostrich, this is my turf!

Here I am, right in the middle of making the definitive Metal Gear Solid 2 analysis, and guys like this have to come along and try to steal my thunder.  Thankfully, they barely scratch the surface, and I don’t need to prove that I wrote about this shit years before they did.  I’m a hipster like that.

Anyway, I suggest you read the whole thing.  It’s kind of neat, but doesn’t nearly do the game justice still.
