Scumbags are ambushing respectable female leaders in their underwear and publishing their pictures
Our second example might not seem as evil as the torture porn created by Machinima.com, but it is. It’s just more subtle, you see. Dozens of highly respectable women industry leaders are being caught with their pants down — literally — as an article from… umm, let me see here… megapublishing titan, Complex Tech illustrates. Yeah, those guys. They’re like the Oprah of the tech world, right? We need to react, because they hold sway over so many millions of people, obviously.
Their crime is this: they published a doubly-misleading article about the “40 Hottest Women in Tech”, by playing on the word “hot” as in “new and important”, but then still resorted to talking about the physical beauty of the women in their article! I think we can all agree that this is a symptom of a very huge problem, and not simply a shitty tech website trying to get attention.
Most disgustingly, the article prominently includes illegally-obtained photographs of these innocent women in their bikinis and underwear, from lurid angles! Innocent women such as Marina Orlova, who a quick Google Image Search will show you is this:
Marina Orlova does not want to be identified by her sexual attractiveness, as you can tell by the fact that her YouTube channel is called “HotForWords” and her famous tagline is “Intelligence is Sexy”. No, all of these photos were taken against her will and published without her permission! She has fought countless legal battles to have them removed because she demands to be respected as a serious adult! I totally didn’t make that up.
Who are these ambush photographers, I wonder. We need to hunt them down and kill them too. Because how dare we (yes, we are all guilty in this case too!) molest and exploit this poor helpless woman who only wants to teach people about the word “fingleformology” in the privacy of her own home? Shame on you, men.
And to hell with you (wait, let me look up the name again…) Complex Tech! You are the symbol of all that is evil in this oppressive male world! Why can’t these terrorized women be given exactly the same treatment as their male counterparts? Marina Orlova behaves exactly the same as Bill Gates and other male industry leaders, after all! It’s not like the success of her entire career is based off exploiting her own appearance and willingness to associate herself with sexuality! It’s not like she voluntarily decided to pose in her bra and show off her cleavage! She just happens to wear skimpy school girl outfits (totally within her rights) and sit in photo studios (not sure why) hoping to be treated the same way as everyone else!
Whether it’s being put off by the suggestion that a woman’s role in gaming is to be a physically harmed victim, or told that in order to be acceptable in tech you must first be “beautiful” – or at least be photographed in your underwear – the message is loud, and all-permeating. If you can’t see how it’s a problem that needs discussing, then you simply don’t give a shit. I’m asking people to start giving a shit.
Well said, Mr. Walker. It’s up to men to fix this problem, as usual. We control everything, and it’s our collective responsibility to hunt down and kill those men who dare to literally put guns to the heads of these blameless victims (again, I’m assuming, because seriously why would anyone give a fuck otherwise?) and force them to appear in shitty Machinma videos and Complex Tech fluff pieces!
And so, in conclusion
This is a Declaration of War. We will not shut up. We will not back down. We will not abide. Something has to be done, and for some reason it’s up to me to save the day! Don’t worry, women, Mr. Wolfe is on the job. I am hereby recruiting every able-bodied male with a pair of testicles and not breasts to compile an emotionally charged hit-list for future assassination, starting with Daniel Youtube and including every person who has ever been ignorant or not cared deeply about these important women’s issues — and that includes women who simply do their jobs and don’t willingly appear in stupid videos or post pictures of themselves in their bras online.
We need to cleanse the Earth!!! Pick a side: you are either a champion of “equality” and a destroyer of the indifferent, or a willing culprit in the never-ending scheme to force powerless women to endure these things. They don’t have the freedom to say “no”, but we do!
