Kojima: Twitter quitter?

Kojima TwitterCould this mean the end of Kojima’s tweeting days?

My iPhone broke last Friday, so I had it replaced at my expense. Couldn’t tweet with the new one for some reasons.  I couldn’t be bothered, so spent the weekend without tweeting.  It was only a three-days, but was the first time in two years to spend time without using Twitter.  Better not to have Twitter for me as a conclusion.

This could be a lousy translation, plus he has made a riveting tweet about ordering eggs since, so let’s cross our fingers and hope that we haven’t seen the last of these and other important messages, sent in 140 characters or less!

OPM interview reveals two sides of Kojima

Oh, I love this.

As relayed by Snake Soup, the new OPM interview with Kojima talks about the dual nature of Kojima while creating games:

“In Guns Of The Patriots [Snake] was supposed to die” he continues but admits he was brought around. “Everyone on the staff really wanted to keep him alive, so I caved a little.” In the interview Kojima touches several times on the conflict between being a creator and a producer – being an artist and a businessman don’t always mix. “I’m a creator at heart, but at the same time I also have to manage the business aspect of it, figure out how to sell the game. I’m still trying to find that balance – it’s very delicate. How do you put in enough to make sure it sells, while remaining true to your vision?”

Without delving too deeply, I have discussed this same thing before, especially as it relates to the allegory of Kojima in the Metal Gear series.  Particularly, I believe that Kojima is absolutely expressing this same thing with Naked Snake during the events of Metal Gear Solid 3.

MGS2 Review Teaser

Yes!  The new idea I hinted at before was an EPIC FULL VIDEO REVIEW of the HD Collection (or at least MGS2 & 3) written and narrated by YOURS TRULY.  Let the above teaser video whet your appetite for the yet-to-actually-begin-production masterpiece that I will unleash!  Now, for some answers to your possible questions: (more…)

“The Reality of Metal Gear Solid 2″ teaser

Ravi Singh, our friend and ally at The Snake Soup, has revealed a preview of some kind of steamy New York City street documentary he’s making?

Oh wait, acccording to the site:

Ten years ago today, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty was released in North America. For those of you who don’t know, while I thought Metal Gear Solid was cool, it was not until Sons of Liberty that I actually became a fan of the series. Without Sons of Liberty, there probably would not have been The Snake Soup.

With that said I planned on releasing a video I’ve been slowly working on titled The Reality of Metal Gear Solid 2 today but it’s not finished. It should be finished by the 29th which is the 10th anniversary of Sons of Liberty in Japan. So that’s not too bad, right?

The 29th?  Isn’t that… very soon?  Well!  I guess we’ll keep our eyes open for that!

Saints Row: The Third review

You can watch Gametrailers put Saints Row: The Third in its place here.

Gametrailers deserves kudos for being willing to put this game in its place, rather than struggling to defend it like Rupert Murdoch’s IGN, who predictably managed to give it an “Editor’s Choice” award, simply for pushing the agenda to discredit games as an intelligent artistic medium forward.

If you haven’t read my own thoughts on Saints Row: The Third, check them out.
